Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

IN MEMORY OF MY DARLING SARAH
WHO FELL ASLEEP 17TH MAY 2004
AGED 21 YRS

I'm forever blowing bubbles,
pretty bubbles in the air.
They fly so high & reach the sky,
and like my dreams they
fade & die.

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Sarah Jane Walker who was born in United Kingdom on May 04, 1983 and passed away on May 17, 2004 at the age of 21. We will remember her forever. She was born 1pm Wednesday 1983. She was very poorly, she was born with a large meningocele on the back of her neck, she had Klippel Feil Syndrome, spinabifida, scoliosis, one lung, one kidney, tracheal stenosis, pulmonary hypertension, 2 large holes in her heart, partial deafness and a dropped palsy on her face, and asthma.
We was told she would never walk or talk. We nearly lost her on numerous occasions but with her will, strength and courage she pulled through. She had so many operations and set backs but she bounced back each time. And proving everyone wrong she did talk and walk. As she grew she turned into the most wonderful little girl with a wicked sense of humour and a infectious laugh and loved by all who met her. She had learning difficulties but tackled this problem with determination and overcome a lot of problems. When she was 13yrs old she had an operation to fuse the bones in her neck as it was unstable and any fall could have been fatal.
She was in a halo for 3wks but fell and the screws in her head moved, they then discovered that she had a thin skull, so she had to go in a minova jacket, which means she was incased in plaster from her head to her waist for 12months. After having it removed she had no movement of her neck what so ever and because she also had what is called webbed neck this operation made her disability more evident.  She had an extemely high tolerance of pain and never complained, as she grew she started to become embarrassed with the way she looked. She was an extremely beautiful girl but she did not see it. People were cruel to her when walking down the street she would be heckled, and that hurt her deeply. She was caring, sensitive girl who could be extremely stubborn, and like most youngsters at times had an attitude. She met a boy called Gareth and against all the odds became pregnant, she was advised to terminate as the pregnancy could kill her. She would not listen and was determined to have her baby. She was in hospital for most of the pregnancy, at 19yrs old she gave birth by ceaser to a beautiful little girl who she called Amber. She was physically unable to care for the baby, so she let me take care of her,  but this emotionally affected Sarah and caused her alot of pain, but she knew it was for the best for her and Amber. A year later Sarah moved out of the family home and moved into a special adapted flat for her needs she knew she could' nt take care of Amber so left her with me. Sarah now had her independence. She would ring me nearly every hour and I used to get so frustrated with her, how I wish that phone would ring now. She would not listen to me and got into the wrong crowd, was easily lead and minipulated and always in trouble, but that was Sarah our little bag of trouble. For her 21st birthday I  sent her to Spain with her boyfriend and she developed a chest infection, the doctors there would not give her any antibiotics. She came home on the Saturday, I was in America and got home on the Sunday, when I saw her she was coughing but that was not unusual for Sarah.
She didn't want to go to the doctors so I told her I would get her some antibiotics from him myself.  I should have seen it, I was tired from the flight and did not pay enough attention. To think I would never let the wind blow on her and this time I let her down. On Monday she died of bronchial pneumonia. My beautiful, brave darling baby, in my heart for ever. I always thought it was you that needed me, how wrong I was , it was me that needed you. Sarah made such an impact on whoever met her, her bravery and courage was awe inspiring. She was an amazing baby, child, woman. I could never begin to imagine the pain that she endured ,it would have brought a grown man to his knees but she faced it with dignity. She is my baby, my child,  my friend, my hero. She has left behind a heartbroken Mum & Dad, a beautifull daughter Amber, boyfriend Gareth, older sister Claire, younger sister Joanne, Nan & Grandad Dunster, Nan & Grandad Walker, neice Jaime, nephew John, aunts Jenny, Jannette, Jackie, Marion, Barbara, uncles Bill, Mark, Glynn, Richard, Steve,  cousins Tony, Jannette , Bill , Tom, Megan, Chris, Martin, Trevor, Colin, David, Luke, Conner & Nikki and the rest of our large family.

"Here In My Heart"

Wherever you are tonight girl
I'll see you in my dreams
Wherever I go tomorrow
You'll be here next to me
And though we are a world apart
I know you'll never be that far

'Cause here in my heart
There's a picture of us
Together forever
Unfaded and unbroken
Wherever you are
Your love covers me
Forever more you'll be
Here in my heart.

Her legacy
Sarah's gift.
My darling girl, through her life she suffered so much.
So much pain. But if there is any reason for any of this or to make any kind of sense of it then it's this.Through her trauma's ,operations, many lives were saved. And there are alot of people walking around today because of her.And not forgetting her little girl ,Sarah risked her life to have her child.Yet again proving it is possible for someone with Sarah's conditions to have a child
